High School Mile
FRIDAY, JULY 31st | Boy’s Race – 4:00 pm | Girl’s Race – 4:15 pm
On July 31st, 2020 at 4PM, the 4th annual TD Bank Beach to Beacon High School Mile presented by Oakhurst will showcase Maine’s top high school runners in a competitive one-mile race at Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth. High school athletes with graduation dates of 2021-2023 will race two laps through the park on a combination of trails and paved paths before finishing on the official TD Beach to Beacon finish line. Student athletes will have the opportunity to interact with elite athletes, and will receive a complimentary Nike singlet and formal introduction before the race.
The event is open to any rising sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled in Maine high schools. The application process will open Wednesday, April 1 and will close on Monday, July 1. Athletes may submit times based on indoor or outdoor results, or a 5K cross country time that meets the qualifying standard*:
- Boys – 5:00 (Mile time) or sub 17:30 for the 5K
- Girls – 6:15 (Mile time) or sub 20:30 for the 5K
After the conclusion of the application process, all submitted times will be verified and ranked, with the top 20 boys and the top 20 girls accepted based on those results. Participants will then be notified of acceptance by Monday, July 6th. If you need to update a time after you register, please email Morgan Lake Adams.
*Due to the postponement of the spring outdoor track season, high school athletes are encouraged to submit times from the 2019 cross country season, the 2019-2020 indoor track season, or the 2019 outdoor season.
