Race Bibs for The TD Beach to Beacon 10K are Still Available Through the Beneficiary, The Telling Room!
CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine (May 2, 2019) – Registration may be closed, but there is still one way to get into the TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race with the Charity Bib program. This program allows the current and former beneficiaries of the race to fundraise with the bibs. The Telling Room, selected as this year’s beneficiary, has race bibs available now. There are only 30 at this point, and by making a contribution of $250 to The Telling Room you can get a spot in the TD Beach to Beacon 10k.
Clubs and civic groups are encouraged to buy bibs as one of their philanthropic efforts. The list of all non-profits offering bibs can be found below.
Since the race began, the TD Beach to Beacon 10K has raised more than $1.6 million for Maine charities. Combined with the annual $30,000 from the TD Charitable Foundation, the total grows to more than $2.2 million distributed.
“Buying a bib is making an investment in a great cause,” said Celine Kuhn, executive director of The Telling Room. “And runners wearing our bibs can race knowing that they have made an important contribution.”
Founded in 2004, The Telling Room is Maine’s only youth-focused literary arts organization, offering innovative, effective and often life-changing writing programs for more than 4,000 Maine kids each year, reaching students from nearly 100 schools in 70 towns across the state, including those from diverse backgrounds and experiences. All core programs are 100% free to students and their families.
The event on August 3 will be the 22nd running of the celebrated American road race, attracting some of the world‘s most talented distance runners.
Maine’s Olympic gold medalist Joan Benoit Samuelson founded The TD Beach to Beacon 10K. Now, two decades later, regular registrations fill up quickly, making the donation route the next best way to get in.
