On Wednesday 600 race slots were made available to Cape Elizabeth residents and on Thursday, 4,500 slots were made available to general entry. All 5,100 slots filled. Now, the only two ways to obtain a bib is to enter the lottery at 7:00 a.m. Friday or to purchase a bib from a former race charitable beneficiary or from this year’s race charitable beneficiary, Valo.

“We are absolutely thrilled as it feels like pre-pandemic times,” said David Backer, Race President. “And what’s even more exciting is that our generous race community donated more than $30,000 to this year’s beneficiary, Valo, while registering for the race. We look forward to celebrating the 25 th running of the race with a full field of runners and the broad community that supports the event.”

Based in Yarmouth, Maine, Valo’s work guides teens to cultivate emotional wellbeing. Through their transformational retreats and school programs, Valo creates a space where teens from a cross-section of communities come together to forge meaningful connections.
