Cape Elizabeth, ME, (June  21, 2021)—Runners who register for the 2021 TD Beach to Beacon Virtual 10K will want to take a closer look inside their race  kit they receive in the mail as two lucky packages will contain an unexpected surprise – the first-ever “Green Ticket” that entitles the holder to free lifetime entry into the renowned event. Presented by TD Bank, winners will also receive TD Beach to Beacon 10K branded merchandise and a $100 TD Bank gift card.

“While we would love to be celebrating the running of the 23rd TDB2B in person, we are still looking forward to coming together for this world-class event virtually. We thought it would be fun to add an unexpected element to this year’s event by introducing the Green Ticket sweepstakes, giving two winners entry for life to this special race,” said Larry Wold, TD Bank, Maine Market President and TDB2B10K Legacy Runner.

People who want to register for the virtual event and be included in the sweepstakes must register by July 9^th. The TD Beach to Beacon 10K draws runners from New England and throughout the world to picturesque Cape Elizabeth. The race begins on Route 77 near the Crescent Beach State Park entrance, winds along tree-lined streets and past breathtaking ocean vistas and ends in Fort Williams Park at historic Portland Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse in the world.

In 2019, the 22^nd TD Beach to Beacon 10K included 6,417 finishers from nine countries, 42 states and almost 260 Maine cities and towns.

In addition to the more than $90,000 in prize money awarded to the top finishers each year when there is an in-person event, TD Bank also makes a separate $30,000 donation to a charity or other non-profit supporting the community.   The 2020 beneficiary, JMG, received the $30,000 donation last year and remains the 2021 beneficiary.
